    Concourse House, located on the Grand Concourse in the Bronx, provides various transitional housing options for women and children under age 9. It offers a variety of social, interactive and housing programs to eliminate homelessness and promote growth and independence.  They are in great need of diapers for children which can be sent directly to them, Concourse House Diaper Drive.
     
    Volunteers needed: Concourse House is seeking volunteers to work alongside their Recreation Coordinator. The Recreation program serves children who live at Concourse House ages 5-9. The Recreation program hosts activities outdoors for the children when the weather permits, such as art programming. Duties include assisting with homework, arts & crafts activities, reading help, engaging with the children and general assistance to the Program Coordinator.

    The Mexican Coalition / Coalición Mexicana has recently expanded from their Bronx location to Brooklyn, and is interested in hosting volunteers and interns who want to help immigrants improve their quality of life by teaching English, preparing for their naturalization with document preparation and tutoring for the citizenship test, and/or assisting the Mexican Coalition with their social media presence. They are also looking to hire a person who could help with grant writing.   To learn more or volunteer with Mexican Coalition volunteering 

    The Coalition is collecting donations for recently arrived migrants to NYC from Texas, to donate MC Amazon wish list.  These items will be delivered directly to the Coalition or items might be dropped off to their offices:

    Creston Avenue Baptist Church Soup Kitchen is also looking for summer volunteers to help prepare and serve ~200 meals on Saturdays to people experiencing food scarcity. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet your Belmont neighbors!

    Xavier Mission is seeking volunteers on weekends to help in the clothing room, food pantry and to serve meals at The Welcome Table on Sundays (the only soup kitchen open on Sundays in NYC).

    Part of the Solution (POTS) has volunteer opportunities from Monday to Saturday to help bag produce, move heavy boxes, and help pack lunch for distribution.
