Concourse House, located on the Grand Concourse in the Bronx, provides various transitional housing options for women and children under age 9. It offers a variety of social, interactive and housing programs to eliminate homelessness and promote growth and independence. They are in great need of diapers for children which can be sent directly to them, Concourse House Diaper Drive.Volunteers needed: Concourse House is seeking volunteers to work alongside their Recreation Coordinator. The Recreation program serves children who live at Concourse House ages 5-9. The Recreation program hosts activities outdoors for the children when the weather permits, such as art programming. Duties include assisting with homework, arts & crafts activities, reading help, engaging with the children and general assistance to the Program Coordinator.- Availability: Between 2:30pm to 6pm on Monday - Friday

Email mtorres@concoursehouse.org for more information.The Mexican Coalition / Coalición Mexicana has recently expanded from their Bronx location to Brooklyn, and is interested in hosting volunteers and interns who want to help immigrants improve their quality of life by teaching English, preparing for their naturalization with document preparation and tutoring for the citizenship test, and/or assisting the Mexican Coalition with their social media presence.
